Business Analyst

DESCRIPTION

The job holder will be responsible for the business analysis and financial modeling in the University.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial modelling and forecasting

  • Variance analysis

  • Pricing based on detailed cost analysis

  • Prepare reports of all business units showing their contribution and overhead allocation

  • Co-ordinate and review of daily back office receipting and banking

  • Preparation of year end budgets and monthly budget execution reports

  • Assisting with preparation of month end accounts

  • Revenue assurance

  • Billings and sales invoices reconciliation

  • Monthly cash flow projections

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business or related area from a recognized university;

  • Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and Member of ICPAK in good standing

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems

  • Ability to develop spreadsheets and perform data analysis

  • Excellent Advanced excel skills

  • Knowledge of generally accepted Accounting Standards

  • Excellent communication skills and team player

  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections

  • Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, zero based budgets and profitability analysis.

  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
