Film Technology and Performing Arts

Develop avant garde visual storytelling skills for fiction and documentary films by learning how to write, produce, direct, shoot, edit and promote films for all platforms. Using industry standard filming equipment, hardware and software you will develop skills in script writing, directing, cinematography, sound design, producing and post-production

You will also venture into the world of performing arts that involves training in voice, acting, and movement,  set design and construction, sound and lighting design, costume design, and stage management. You will receive training and practical experience in theatre promotion, administration and management skills.

Who can join?

This programme is suitable for practicing professionals who would like to improve their skill and knowledge in this field. High school graduates who would like to break into film production and promotion are also invited to apply. 

Career opportunities

Careers include but are not limited to production technician, actor or creative artist for film, TV, online, and other media, script-writing, playwriting, radio or voice-over performance, speech and drama teaching, events/festival management, and/or entrepreneurial performing/creative production company

Entry qualifications

KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) OR any other equivalent qualification approved by the university senate.
