Front Office Administration



Course Description
This course introduces the roles and functions of the front office and aims to improve the learner’s understanding of reservation and check-in systems and procedures, basic legal issues affecting business operations, managerial issues related to the recruitment, selection and retention of staff along with a range of customer relations systems and procedures used by the front office staff.

Learning Outcomes

  • Professionally manage front office/ desk

  • Understand and execute the purpose of front desk/ office

  • Understand dynamics of customer service and develop confidence to handle customer complaints

  • Interpret, analyze and communicate guest information, guest data, complaints, request for service and other lodging situations for reporting to management.

  • Understand impact of the front desk/office on an organization’s operations

  • Demonstrate front office technical and supervision techniques

  • Demonstrate professional customer relations technical skills, supervisory techniques and management skills

The course is designed for those who will ultimately seek positions as Front Office Administrators and it provides learners with the knowledge necessary for the effective management and administration of the front office and related resources. It is particularly suitable for Form IV leavers, working staff and any other interested persons who meet the minimum entry requirement.
