KCA University Management together with the SAKU leadership find that the conduct of student elections has been adversely affected due to the fact that all students are currently learning remotely. This has made it challenging to conduct the 2020/2021 student election as stipulated in the SAKU constitution.
Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 41 (1H) of the Act, the SAKU leadership together with the University Senate have enacted the Student Association of KCA University 2020 Electoral Rules (the Rules). The Rules provide that the incumbent SAKU Council and the Regional Campus Leadership Committee (RCLC) Members whose terms are due to expire will transition to a CARETAKER GOVERNMENT and will perform the functions of the SAKU Council and the RCLC respectively until the next election or as will be guided by University Senate. The SAKU Electoral Rules 2020 shall become operational on 22nd October 2020. In light of the above, the 2020/2021 elections scheduled for October 2020 are hereby suspended.
